Emily Blunt: Will She Be New Captain Marvel?
Emily Blunt just might be the new Captain Marvel, if rumors, tales and hopes hold true.
Everyone loved Emily Blunt in Into the Woodsand we got a taste of her action chops in Edge of Tomorrow.
But does Emily Blunt have what it takes to play the wonderous Captain Marvel?
Rumors have been swirling for quite a while that Emily Blunt could be attached to the Captian Marvelmovie that is slated to come out in 2018.
In fact, during the Meet The Movie Press podcast, which is hosted by Umberto Gonzalez and Mark E. Reilly, Mark said, “It doesn’t make sense yet because it’s been a rumour but I’ve had somebody tell me that Emily Blunt is Ms. Marvel, that it’s a done deal.’”

However, there has been zero confirmation on Marvel’s or Emily Blunt’s end.
Emily Blunt told Vulture last year, when she was asked about her upcoming role as Captain Marvel, “Oh! No one’s offered me that officially, so it’s … very unofficial. I think it’s fan-casting, which is always very nice. But nothing official has been offered, for sure.”
Emily Blunt turned down roles in Black Widowand Agent Carterbecause the timing was wrong.
She said, “…it was never the right time, really, and it just didn’t work out scheduling-wise with those two. It’s always a difficult thing to talk about, because it’s not fair to the actresses who ended up playing them, you know? It just wasn’t the right time.”
Could the timing be right now for Emily Blunt to work with Marvel as the new Captain Marvel?
